Made with the classic French liqueur, they’re the perfect way to enjoy its signature orange flavor.  Grand Marnier was invented in 1880 and since then, the popular liqueur has expanded its line, adding cherry and raspberry peach flavors to the original orange.  Similar to Cointreau or triple sec, it’s a favorite among cocktail connoisseurs for its subtle but sweet taste.  Mix it up in a margarita, swirl with strawberries for a fruity punch, or cozy up with a boozy coffee or hot chocolate. There are endless ways to enjoy this brandy-based treat!

Simple Grand Marnier Drinks For Summer

1. Cadillac Margarita

Zesty and boozy, the margarita is a classic for a reason. It’s the cocktail equivalent of that friend who steals the show at every party. Bright, vibrant, and eye-catching, this drink is impossible to ignore. Lime juice, tequila, agave syrup, Cointreau, and Grand Marnier – there may not be many ingredients, but this powerful drink packs a punch!

2. Grand Mimosas

Perfect for special occasions, these festive mimosas are a brunch-time treat. The recipe follows the classic mimosa formula – champagne and orange juice – but adds a generous serving of Grand Marnier into the mix. And because there’s orange juice, it’s basically breakfast food. Honest!

3. B-52 Shot

This striped shot looks gorgeous and tastes great too, making it a party favorite. It’s a creative concoction made from layers of Baileys Irish Cream, Grand Marnier, and coffee liqueur. It’s believed to be named after the B-52 bombers, but others say it’s a tribute to the 70s band of the same name. Either way, this shot will have you up and dancing like a rockstar.

4. Mai Tai

A Mai Tai is made with tropical juice laced with lots of Caribbean rum. It’s a cheap way to vacation, giving you that sun-kissed feeling without getting sand in your shoes. Frothy and sweet, I love serving this in the summer. Dress it up with a fancy cocktail umbrella, and you can pretend you’re poolside.

5. Blueberry Tea Cocktail

Spiked tea is my favorite type of tea. And this fruity version is especially delicious.  Made with Grand Marnier, Amaretto, and orange pekoe tea, there are no actual blueberries in this warming drink. But it definitely contains berry notes and a hint of orange.  You’ll need a brandy snifter to make this recipe. If you don’t have one, I highly recommend borrowing one from the neighbors. It’s the perfect opportunity to invite them over for a housewarming tipple.

6. Monte Cristo Coffee

Lounging over breakfast? Having a relaxed weekend brunch? A boozy coffee will go really well with all that stress-free chilling. This recipe adds Grand Marnier to freshly brewed coffee and stirs it together with Kahlua and cream. It’s sweet, it’s strong, and it’s insanely addictive.

7. Strawberry Lemonade with Grand Marnier

This fruit punch is great for backyard BBQs or game day. Just stir up a big pitcher and let the adults dive in! You do have to do a little prep – whipping up a strawberry puree beforehand, but this takes just a few minutes in the blender and is well worth it. That fresh fruit puree is swirled with lemon, sugar, and club soda to make refreshing lemonade. And then it gets interesting. Spike your lemonade with Grand Marnier and serve over ice.

8. Champagne Punch

Champagne is associated with revelry, good times, celebrations, and holidays. But you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to get that good-time feeling right in your kitchen.  Bright, breezy, and packed with colorful fruits, this punch is a party in a pitcher. Make a batch and share it with a loved one. Go on, you deserve it.

9. Blood Orange Cocktail

This pretty cocktail is so orange, it practically glows. And so will you once you get a taste. It’s a heady blend of orange juice, Grand Marnier, white wine, vodka, and simple syrup.  With three types of alcohol in this drink, don’t be fooled, as it’s not the innocent fruit juice it appears to be!

10. Beautiful Cocktail

Proving that beauty doesn’t have to be complicated, this super easy recipe has just two ingredients. Cognac and Grand Marnier. That’s it! That’s all you need for a powerful drink that’s sharp and strong, with delicate fruit undertones.

11. Apple Cider Margarita

Save this juicy treat for fall, when you can really appreciate its autumnal flavors. Apple cider, Grand Marnier, and tequila form the base while cinnamon and apple slices dress it up. If you’re serving this for Thanksgiving, don’t forget to add the classic margarita rim. This version laces the glass with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar to continue the fall theme.

12. Larchmont

As the name suggests, the Larchmont is a very classy and upmarket cocktail. This isn’t the fruity punch you guzzle on a girl’s night out. It hasn’t got the show-stopping party power of a margarita or a Mai Tai. Simply made, with white rum, Grand Marnier, and lime, this cocktail is all about understated elegance and sophisticated sipping.

13. Fruity White Wine and Grand Marnier Sangria

A traditional Spanish treat, sangria is the life of the party. Loaded with fresh fruit, wine, Grand Marnier, and sparkling water, it’s a refreshing glass that tastes like summer. This version uses strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, pineapple, and peaches, but you can use any fruit.  With a whole heaping of fresh fruit in the mix, this is probably the most nutritious cocktail you’ll ever make. It’s definitely my favorite way to take my vitamins.

14. Champagne Cosmo

Bubbly and bright, cosmos are a great way to unwind after a hard day. This recipe, laced with champagne, will help you celebrate any occasion (if it’s just the end of the workweek). It’s a frothy and fruity mix of Grand Marnier, champagne, cranberry juice, and fresh lime, making it sharp and tart in just the right way.

15. Grand Marnier Hot Chocolate

This isn’t hot chocolate, this is a boozy hug in a mug. Made with real chocolate, half and half, orange zest, and Grand Marnier, it’s more like a dessert than a cocktail, but who’s complaining?! Serve with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles if you’re having one of those days. Your bad mood will be gone by the last sip.

16. Sidecar

You learn something every day apparently and today I learned that there are two types of sidecars. The French version contains equal parts cognac, Cointreau, and lemon juice. The English version contains two parts cognac, one part Cointreau, and one part lemon juice. As with most cocktails, the devil’s in the dose and this recipe follows the English – doubling up on the cognac.  This gives the final drink a dense flavor and powerful kick, rounded off with an orange slice to garnish.

17. Earl Grey Cocktail

Aromatic and fragrant, Earl Grey tea is a great addition to cocktails.  Flavored with bergamot and orange, it blends beautifully with Grand Marnier in this unique recipe.  It’s a warming mix of tea, sugar, Grand Marnier, and lemon juice. Serve it with a slice of orange and enjoy a classy but cozy teatime. Click on a star to rate it!
